The Denver 40 Days for Life had their Kick off Rally on Saturday March 5 at St. James parish.
Bishop James Conley, Auxiliary Bishop of the Denver archdiocese gave a very moving and heartfelt sermon. He brought me to tears. Here is a link to the article in the Denver Catholic Register detailing his sermon.

Fr. John Paul Leyba from St. Thomas More in Centennial also gave a very profound speech during the rally. By the time I had to speak I was completely undone. It is so great to see our shepards leading their flock in the cause for Life. Bishop Conley said something very incisive; being pro-life is a spirituality. That is so true.
I hope many, many more people will sign up to pray for the 40 Days for life. We can all do our part to save babies from such a cruel death and to help their mothers avoid the biggest mistake they will ever make.
If you can't be at a clinic praying please consider saying a daily rosary at home or in adoration in support.

40 Days for Life

Unplanned the Book
I read the book "Unplanned" by Abby Johnson. It was very good and I highly recommend it.
In the book she talks about how she found compassionate and sincere women who worked at Planned Parenthood with her and how they really wanted to help women. When I was a volunteer at Planned Parenthood I found the same thing. I was the one that was the angry, militant in your face feminist. I was the one that would argue and yell at pro-lifers. I was the one that was suspicious of all pro-lifers especially the Christians and denigrated them. My conversion was not a slow process. It was not a process at all. It truly was an instanteous thing; a St. Paul experience. God is very merciful and kind.
Another thing that struck me was how Abby always thought her mission was to reduce the number of abortions. Again, I never felt that way. I thought it was a women's right and noone could tell her what to do with her body. A women can have as many abortions as she wanted and noone should stop her.
The thing that really got me though with Abby's book is when she describes the ultrasound guided abortion that she witnessed. That just about undid me. If anyone can read that chapter and not understand and believe in the humanity of the unborn child and see how wrong abortion is and why women suffer from it so much then.......I really don't know what to say....souless....hardened, evil....monster....are some of the things that come to mind though. I think even I would have been converted if I had read a book like that back in my feminists days.

Jan 23 2011 Rally in Springfield, IL
I was invited by the Springfield, IL Right to Life committee to speak at their rally they have every year at the State Capitol. It was cold that Sunday, January 23rd and snowy. Many people attended though despite the cold and the fact that the Bears were playing that day. One part of the rally really touched me. They had young children lay roses in a vase to commemorate all the children who have died through abortion since Roe v Wade. It was very touching.
I told my story and hopefully imparted my message of how abortion hurts womem. I also encouraged them to consider praying or counseling in front of an abortion clinic. Having a prayerful presence at an abortion clinic and reaching out to the women going in there may be the only truth these women will ever hear. I just feel it's so important.

Love
St. Thomas Aquinas defines love as sacrificing onself for the good of another. Abortion is just the oopposite. In abortion women sacrifice their baby for their own good. Why does this happen? Women are being told that their career, finances, jobs, schooling etc are more important than their babies. Many women fall for this. I did, twice. You take a scared, confused, unsure young woman who is in a crisis pregnancy and you dangle this carrot in front of her face ( the lies). Chances are she's going to jump at it. Society presents crisis pregnancies as a problem and they entice women with a "solution", a deadly solution.
How can we counter this attack? Love. We can love these women and offer them real solutions, not death. We can teach them about love. Love is sacrifice. I am willing to sacrifice my career and whatever else to bring my baby to life. Now, that's love!

The Economist (the recent edition entitled, "Gendercide") and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) came out with the "news" that over 100 million girls and women that should be alive are not.The culprits are parents who want to have sons only and use sonograms to identify the sex of their child in the womb. The end result is millions of sex-selection abortions of unwanted girls every year.Pro-lifers have denounced this "slaughter of Eve" in the strongest terms for some time now. Love Without TRUTH is Abandonment
The feminists groups and pro-abortion organizations like Planned Parenthood claim to "love" women and care about them. Yet, they do not tell women the truth about abortion. They lie to them by telling them it isn't a baby just a clump of cells. They tell them the procedure will be very easy, painless and you'll be able to get on with your life as if nothing ever happened which is another lie. They also lie to them by saying abortion is helpful to women and women need abortion. The truth is abortion is very harmful to women in so many ways psychologically, emotionally and physically. Many women suffer from long term guilt and shame which manifests in alcohol and drug abuse and depression. Women have become infertile from abortion and there is a link between abortion and breast cancer. By not telling women the truth about abortion Feminists and their allies have ABANDONED women.

A man left this note for me after my talk in New Mexico.
Dear Mrs. Brennan,
Thank you very much for your talk. When my daughter was 15 I found out that my ex-wife had put her on birth control. I went to the doctor of my daughter but she wouldnl't talk to me. In New Mexico a girl of any age can get birth control and an abortion without informing her parents.
Later my own girlfirend said that she might be pregnant. Even though I was out of the church I said I would hlep. She said "no", that she would "take care of it." I never heard from her again. I asked health professionals and legal people to help but men have no rights to find out what happend to their girlfirend's or wife's pregnancy. I pray for them.

I think men need to start a movement, a man's movement of speaking out and demonstrating, demanding etc. that their voices be heard in regards to abortion. I hope some men will take my suggestion and get the ball rolling. Society needs men, unborn children need their fathers to speak up!

Silent No More Gathering
Planned Parenthood had invited prominent women in the Denver area to tour their facilities. Planned Parenthood is trying to garner support from the community. So I wanted to counteract PP's deadly message and organized a Silent No More gathering during their "tour". About 70 women and men gathered outside the entrance of Plannced Parenthood in the snow and cold. We held our signs; I Regret my Abortion, Women Do Regret Abortion, A Pregnant Woman Needs Support Not Abortion, Men Regret Lost Fatherhood and Women Deserve Better than Abortion.
Many of the women driving in were unfamiliar with the area so hesisted going in. This gave them a chance to actually notice us and read our signs. We didn't shout or yell at the people driving in. We just stood silently holding our signs. I know we made an impact.

The campaign being waged by pro-abortion feminist groups against the pro-life Super Bowl ad starring college football star Tim Tebow appears to be backfiring.
In recent days former VP candidate Sarah Palin and a CBS official both have warned of the negative image the feminist groups are casting for themselves by opposing the ad. At the same time, the pro-abortion campaign has galvanized pro-life groups into mounting a firm response, through [1] petitions, [2] Facebook [3] groups, and other mediums, which have gained widespread and growing support.

I heard Gloria Allred give an interview on a local radio station yesterday. She was practically accusing Pam Tebow of lying about her experience. It just goes to show and I say this all the time femnist groups like NOW, NARAL and Planned Parenthood do NOT care about women they care about abortion. Gloria also made the derogatory comment "mandatory motherhood" when defending a woman's right to "choose". She and women like her are afraid of their womaness and their feminity that is why they are so rabidly pro-abortion. What is the essence, the very meaning of being a woman but to give birth and nurture life. They hate that. It is very sad really when you think about it. That's why I always encourage people to pray for these women. They are so filled with anger and hatred they desperately need our prayers.

My Trip To New Mexico
I was in Las Vegas, NM this past weekend. First I spoke to the confirmation class of Immaculate Conception parish. There was about 100 young people in attendance. Great kids! I do like speaking to young people. Sometimes you don't know what they are thinking but I know I capture their attention because they stop talking and actually look at me.
Then on Sunday, I did a parish talk which included another group of confirmation students from Our Lady of Sorrows parish. We had a very lively question and answer session where many of the attendees were engaged and passionate. I enjoyed myself very much.

January 28, 2010 (InsideCatholic.com) - Of all the things I remember about the Texas March for Life in Austin last January, the memory that stands out the most is the look on the faces of the counter-protesters who followed us along Congress Avenue and down to the capitol that frosty morning. When I glanced over to see the source of the epithets that were being screamed at us, I met the eyes of one young woman wearing a black bandana over the bottom half of her face. She happened to look over and meet my gaze, and in her eyes I saw one thing: hatred.
